Students from School of Music and Recording Arts of Communication University of China (CUC) achieved good results in domestic and international competitions, reflecting the high quality development of Vocal Performing major.
Due to the pandemic, many offline competitions were postponed. In the 9th International Vocal Open Competition 2021 held in Xiamen, Fujian in January 2022, Zhu Guanwen, a fresh postgraduate of the media music major, won the first prize in Open Classes of World Folk Songs Class, while Zhang Kewei, a vocal performing student in the Class of 2018, won the first prize in Youth Class A of Special Theme (Chinese Folk Song) Classes.

Likewise, the 4th China-Belarus "Silk Road" International Youth Contest of Arts 2021 was also postponed to January 2022. Wu Xiang, He Banggeli, Ma Haohui and Tian Qianyi, vocal performing students of Class 2019, all won the first prize of Youth Group of Vocal Music of Beijing Division. Meanwhile, Yang Jingyi, a vocal performing student of Class 2020, won the second prize of Youth Group of Vocal Music.

CUC attaches great importance to the development of vocal performing major. The teachers also provide students with careful guidance. In the 9th International Vocal Open Competition 2021, Professor Lu Guowen was honored with Excellent Vocal Tutor of International Award. At the same time, Lu Guowen, Zhao Ke and Cao Hui were awarded the title of "Excellent Tutor" of Beijing Division in the 4th China- Belarus "Silk Road" International Youth Contest of Arts.
