The torch relay for the Beijing Winter Olympics started on the morning of February 2. After a three-day relay, the Olympic torch will light the cauldron at the Bird’s Nest National Stadiumof China on the night of Friday, officially kicking off the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. One of the torchbearers, Miss Yi Liyuan, an associate professor from Communication University of China, told reporters that participating in the torch relay was one of the most important moments of her life after her leg of the relay ended on Wednesday.

Yi, a singer, an actress and a cultural ambassador promoting the Winter Olympics, is the No.195 torchbearer on the relay. It’s my honor to be the ambassador of the Olympic culture promotion and the torchbearer of the Beijing Winter Olympics. The torch relay is not only to carry the Olympic flame and pass on the Olympic spirit of 'Higher, Faster, Stronger, Together', but more importantly, to present the cultural confidence of China and the new look of Beijing as the 'Dual Olympic City'. Yi said after finishing her relay.

As an artist and a promoter of the Winter Olympics, Prof.Yi has actively responded to the call of the Beijing Olympics in a winter sports boom. She constantly takes part in various cultural and artistic activities related to the Winter Olympics, actively bringing in the Olympic atmosphere in her surroundings. Singing the song of Ice and Snow Torch, joining the variety show of Engagement with Winter Olympics, and acting in the TV drama of To Our Dreamlandof Ice, Yi has carried forward the Olympic spirit through her artistic works, and found the shared features between her art and the Olympic Games.

From both the athletes and artists, I can see a sense of patriotism of winning glory for the motherland, the spirit of striving to be the best, and the growing national confidence to raise China's prestige. Yi said, I am full of expectations for the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics and the prosperity of China's cultural and artistic fields. Encouraged by the Olympic spirit and the national spirit, I sincerely hope that the Chinese culture and art can be passed down from generation to generation like the Olympic torch.
