Recently Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education issued the Notification on the Announcement of the Results of the Third Phase of the ‘Campus Asia’ Project, in which the Asian Animation Education Association: Construction and Management project,jointly submitted by Communication University of China(CUC) and universities from Japan, Korea and Thailand was selected.
During the first five-year construction of Campus Asia, the project team of CUC has carried out animation co-work, human-computer interaction workshops, international professor workshops, animation and convergence media master courses, and Asian Young Scholars Forum via short-term project-based, medium- term and long-term teaching-style cooperation and international dual master's degree construction, which relates to theoretical teaching, production practice, artistic creativity, cultural experience, etc., covering disciplines such as animation, digital media art and so on.CUC has also accordingly carried out the construction of a culture and art course cluster entirely delivered in English and international MOOC.
In 2021, in light of the experience from the past five years and the current demand for international education cooperation, CUC, Tokyo University of the Arts, Korean National University of Arts and Silpakorn University jointly submitted the upgraded second five-year construction project under the title of Asian Animation Education Association: Construction and Management.The CUC project team also invited Silpakorn University and National University of Singapore to explore and promote innovative cooperation in concerted efforts such as co-development of curriculum, mutual establishment of chairs, recognition of credits and award of degrees.
Campus Asia is a consensus reached at the China-Japan-ROK Leaders' Meeting not only to promote cooperation and mutual understanding among students through various exchange programs among higher education institutes in the three countries, but to contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of schools and fostering the next generation of outstanding talents in Asia. Each project of" Campus Asia "selected by Ministry of Education of the three countries lasts for five years. Currently, in accordance with the document released by Ministry of Education of China, Campus Asia has been extended to Campus Asia+, which will include universities from ASEAN countries.
