On March 5, the delegation of CUC and Abertay University held an online meeting regarding the Sino-foreign cooperative education project in Hainan. The two sides reviewed their existing progress and discussed more possibilities for cooperation in the future.
Duan Peng, Vice President of CUC, expresses appreciation of all members enduring commitment over the years and hopes that both sides will further promote the cooperation.
CUC Vice President Duan Peng acknowledged the teacher-student interaction and project cooperation between two universities in the field of game design and expressed his gratitude to both sides for actively preparing for the application of Sino-foreign cooperative undergraduate programs. Duan introduced the implementation of the construction plan of Hainan International Campus of CUC and emphasized the importance of cooperation focusing on digital creativity related majors such as Computer Arts, Game Design and Production, etc. He hoped that both sides could speed up the legal confirmation process of the cooperation agreement, and looked forward to entering the next substantive cooperation stage.
Vice President Liz Bacon of Abertay University expressed the sincerity and expectation of the British side for the Sino-foreign cooperative education project and acknowledged the outstanding achievements of CUC in the field of media education. Liz gave a detailed introduction to the key strength and talents cultivation of Abertay University in the field of game design and game technology, and hoped that the cooperation could achieve more innovations in cultivating undergraduate talents. Liz mentioned that despite being unable to physically meet during the pandemic, both sides utilized online platforms to report on the progress of the project. Abertay University will maintain communication with CUC and speed up the preparation work to complete the application of Sino-foreign cooperative education projects together.

The delegation from CUC consists of Zhao Xinli, Dean of Hainan International College of CUC, Jin Xuetao, Dean of Faculty of International Media , Wang Wenyuan, Deputy Director of International Office, etc.
Abertay University started as Dundee Technical Institute in 1888, which was best known for strong focus on computer games and art design. It is the only UK university with official accreditation in both fields. According to the results of the Research Excellence Framework 2014 (REF2014) published on 18 December 2014, Abertay was the highest-ranked modern university in Scotland for research intensity.
