Thursday afternoon, November 5, the launching ceremony of China's Journalism and Communication Lecture was held at the Communication University of China (CUC).
Secretary-General Wang Xiaohong is hosting the launching ceremony.
Aimed at strengthening the structure of “New Liberal Arts”, the Lecture Hall was guided by the Publicity Department and Ministry of Education, and was hosted by CUC.
President Liao Xiangzhong gave his speech in the launching ceremony. He expressed that CUC will continue to implement the principle of co-construction, fully support and promote the high-quality construction of “China’s Journalism and Communication Lecture”.

President Liao also said that with its characteristic items, CUC will continue to develop more from an international perspective and blaze new trails in the field of new media. Moreover, CUC will observe the principal that education should be rooted deeply in the land of China and actively explore a cross-integration paradigm of the construction of “New Liberal Arts”, so that it can cultivate new liberal arts talents needed in this new era.
The subject of this year’s lecture is “Reports from the Frontline of Wu Han”, which contains 32 teaching videos recorded by 42 journalists from 14 mainstream media. These 42 journalists have reported from the frontline when the pandemic in China reached its height and have showed their high devotion to the country and their professional qualities. After the launching ceremony, student and teacher representatives in the main venue watched the first lesson.
The launching ceremony was broadcast live by 7 media platforms,and students and teachers from journalism and communication schools or departments watched it online.
Till now, over 30 media including Xinhua News Agency, People’s Daily, BTV have reported this launching ceremony.
