Lecturer’s Biography:
Eberhard Illner (born on March 11, 1954 in Dusseldorf) is a German historian and author. Illner studied history and sociology at the University of Cologne and received his doctorate in 1981. Since 1986, he has worked at the Historical Archive of the City of Cologne and was responsible for the collections, photography and estates.
As successor to Michael Knieriem, who retired in the spring of 2008, Illner was in October 2008 new director of the Historical Center in Wuppertal. Illner has a teaching assignment at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal
