From May 21st to 22nd, Vice President Yuan Jun headed a delegation to visit the New York Institute of Technology (abbreviated as NYIT). He attended the 56th commencement ceremony at NYIT's Old Westbury campus.
The day included the Vice President Yuan Jun's Salute to the Class of 2017, conferring of academic degrees to the 48 students from CUC-NYIT Joint Master’s Degree program. The 48 students all come from Faculty of International Media(abbreviated as ICUC), CUC, majoring in Communication Arts, Graphic Design and Animation Art.
The Interim President of New York Institute of Technology Rahmat Shoureshi, Ph.D. warmly welcomed the delegation. Afterwards, they had a friendly meeting on further promoting the communication and cooperation between the two universities.Vice President Yuan Jun appreciated the consistent effort that ICUC made to the Sino-foreign cooperation in academics and the promotion of cultural exchange between China and America.
In May 22nd, the delegation visited the NYIT Manhattan Campus. They visited the Graduation Design Exhibition in New York, which was an organized presentation and display of a selection of ICUC graduates’ art items.Their innovative work was highly recognized and praised by the delegation. In addition, Vice President Yuan Jun hoped that they could have a strong sense of social responsibility, soberly recognize their rights and obligationsand integrate the Chinese elements into the futureartistic creation.
Luo Qing, executive dean of ICUC, Shu Xiaomei, deputy dean of Graduate School, Jia Xiuqing, deputy chair of Faculty of Arts, Kou Hongliang, deputy director of Assets Management Office, Zhong Yiqian, deputy dean of School of Advertising accompanied vice president Yuan during the visit.
