From March 20 to March 29,in order to promote the communication and cooperation between CUC and international organizations, as well as European universities,a delegation led by Zhao Hui,Vice Chairman of the University Council,paid a visit to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization-International Institute for Educational Planning(UNESCO-IIEP), Paris-Sorbonne University,University of Lausanne,Nottingham Trent University and University of Abertay Dundee and then signed correlative cooperation agreements with them. With an abundance of achievements, the visit opened up a new pattern in regard to substantial communication and cooperation between CUC and UNESCO, as well as European universities.
In the beginning, on March 21, the delegation visited UNESCO-IIPE, which headquarters in Paris. And Zhao Hui, Vice Chairman of the University Council and Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission, had several talks with Director Susanna Grant Lewis, Murielle Plasson，who is in charge of education corruption and education ethic.Mrs. Lewis gave the delegation a warm welcome. She said that as the most active and important subordinate department of UNESCO, IIPE attached great importance to communicating and extending channels to cooperate with universities in China. The visit of the CUC delegation this time meant a lot to the cooperation of both sides. And she wished to strengthen cooperation in science and research fields. Which is substantially meaningful, especially to Incorruption Research Center and Education Corruption and Education Ethic Project of Communication University of China. Zhao expressed that both sides had common interests in educational corruption and educational ethic and the way to apply new media technology in it. Meanwhile, she hoped that our school could develop a new cooperation mode with IIPE and made substantial progress in corruption research. During the meeting, opinions about exchanging teaching materials and publications, jointly providing related personnel of International Education Incorruption with specialized training services and organizing international meeting, establishing international professor workshop were also exchanged. In the end,Zhao and Lewis respectively represented their side and signed a 5-year cooperation agreement.
On March 23,Zhao,along with the delegation,arrived at University of Lausanne(UNIL for short)in Switzerland,and then met with Francois Busi,the Vice Chancellor of UNIL,and Florelle Udrisard,the assistant of the Relations internationales of UNIL.The relationship between the two universities,which is first built by the recommendation of the Chinese Embassy in Switzerland, is becoming more and more stable through the eight-year development.During this visit,both sides discussed a lot over summer cooperation projects,Sino-Europe Communication Law Elite Workshop Project, Cooperation Project of Locarno International Film Festival,the cooperation of the Department of International Comparative Law,as well as the Department of Communication Law. In the end, they have determined concrete action plan.After the meeting,the delegation visited the top-ranking Research Center of International Comparative Law,which provided a united research program aiming for Chinese Comparative Law,therefore,contributing to further cooperation between both universities in this field.
On March 27,the delegation went to Nottingham Trent University,which is an important partner of International Communication Education College of no-seperate-legal-entity Sino-foreign cooperative school-running Institute and cooperates with us in three majors for Master’s degree and one for PHD ,for a meeting of Sino-foreign Educational Management Committee,which is held annually according to “Regulations on Sino-Foreign Cooperation in running schools” . Two vice presidents,Edward Peak and Reyn,attended the meeting and expressed their ideas on the major issues of the cooperation of running schools,including the revise of International United Cultivation Scheme,the experience exchanging and training of international prominent teachers,the developing expansion of enrollment quota,the bilateral resources cooperation on what has required the approval of the Ministry of Education,namely M&CH Management for Master’s Degree,and joint international expansion of recruiting students,joint Forum and other academic and industry resources cooperation.Besides,the delegation discussed the cooperation on the Department of fashion marketing communication for Master’s Degree and DBA Business Administration for PHD with the dean of both Business College and College of Humanity and Liberal Arts.They finally decided to cooperate not only in news dissemination fields,but also in administration and fashion fields.
On March 28,Zhao and the delegation visited University of Abertay Dundee(UAD for short) as the last station in United Kingdom.Conferred with the name,initial center of British excellent computer games,UAD is famous for its Game major and Network major,which respectively rank first in Britain and rank Top 10 in the world.Vice Principal of UAD,Mark Batho,and Directer of Department of Foreign Affairs,Jack Mackenzie,attended the conference.The two sides had a discussion on their cooperation in CUC`s importing the Game Design major and China`s importing Network Security major and international network security expert for jointly constructing Expert Studio Project and so on.Game design is a new economic form in Internet Era,as many countries think highly of network security.In-depth communication of these fields is certainly beneficial for the two sides to enhance substantial cooperation.
Liu Chunmei, Deputy Director of Discipline Inspection Commission and Chief of the Office of the Ombudsman, and Wang Xiaolei, teacher of Faculty of Literature and Law,accompanied the delegation to visit UNESO IIPE. Xia Dan, the Personnel Director,Luo Qing, Vice Dean of ICUC and Tan Xiao, Vice Director of President Office participated in the whole visit.
