Speaker: Wang Guan
Speaker Introduction: Wang Guan is currently the chief political correspondent for CCTV America’s Mandarin Service based in Washington D.C. He has covered virtually all major events shaping and defining China-U.S. relations for the past eight years, from both Beijing and Washington.
Before his relocation to the United States, Wang Guan was the chief China correspondent for CCTV’s English language news network, CCTV News, in Beijing. He has broken stories from virtually all of China’s 34 provinces.
His reporting journeys have taken him deep inside North Korea, Pakistan and Russia, among other regions, to investigate regional and global geo-political and economic issues. He has met and interviewed prominent newsmakers including Henry Kissinger, Secretary of State John Kerry, National Security Adviser Susan Rice, Treasury Secretary Jack Lew, former Pakistani President Asif Zardari, former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, former U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao, IOC President Jacques Rogge, and former Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing.
