On October 28th, 2016, the opening ceremony for the 11th China (Beijing) International Student Animation Festival was held at CUC. At the same time, the final work of evaluation“White Poplar Award” was made in the meeting room on the third floor of School of Animation and Digital Arts. 13 top experts in Animation and Cartoon industry who were invited to be judges in the Animation Festival are from China, America, Japan and the United Kingdom.

A total of 1000 works were received at this year’s Animation Festival , which come from more than 30 countries and 80 universities. These works fall into three categories: Animation, Comic illustration and Games. After initial evaluation and selection, 47 works qualified for the final.
After the discussion between the judges, the awards“ White Poplar Best Short Animation” , "Best Directing”, "Best Screenplay”, "Best Art Design”, " Best Character Animation”, "Best Original Music”, "Best Comic Art “, "Best Single Illustration “,"Best Video Game Design” and“ Best Creativity Award in Game Design” were set at the award ceremony on Oct.31st.

This animation festival was co-sponsored by CUC and iQIY, gathering many top-name artists and scholars both in China and abroad and bringing us splendid master course.
