CUC held an opening ceremony in the stadium on September 19th for new students of 2016. School leaders and about 4000 new students from the Faculty of Journalism and Communication ,Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Science and Technology, International Exchange and Cooperate Centre, etc., attended the ceremony.
As a tradition,Vice President Hu Zhengrong delivered his welcome address, in which his expectations towards new students and challenges of the coming academic years were outlined. He introduced the main buildings, landscapes and stadiums to show the history, talent cultivation, faculty and unique culture of CUC.
In the speech, Vice President Hu Zhengrong pointed out that ’wholehearted devotion to the students’ is the educational philosophy of CUC. He expressed the fundamental elements of successful CUCers are diligent thinking and daring practice, and expected all of the students to have this kind of quality.
Fang Yihua, Yan Yonglan, Gu Guoning, Man Hongpen, Zhang Yaxua, and Zhang Zihao as the representatives of teachers, parents, alumni, new comers, shared their welcome and wishes towards all the freshmen.
A poetry "Dedicated to Everyone " was held specially this year, which expressed the dream of media workers. The opening ceremony ended with the School Song.
