A delegation from Malaysia's education sector visited the School of International Studies (SIS) at Communication University of China (CUC) on December 29, 2025. Faculty members, along with postgraduates in International and Regional Studies (Southeast Asia) and Malay program undergraduates, welcomed the guests for an exchange on language education and regional cooperation.

The event was hosted by Liu Qinqin, a lecturer from the Malay program. In her welcome address, Associate Professor Zhang Jingling outlined the program's development, highlighting its faculty expertise, textbook and curriculum innovation, student social practices, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in foreign language teaching. The presentation offered the Malaysian delegation insights into SIS's approach to regional language education, followed by discussions on potential areas for future collaboration.

Mohamad Zapawi bin Mamat, a representative of the Malaysian delegation, introduced his team members and shared insights into the professional development of primary and secondary school teachers in Malaysia. He underscored the delegation's commitment to advancing basic education in Malaysia and expressed a strong hope to strengthen collaboration between Chinese and Malaysian educators, enhancing their core competencies through mutual exchanges.
The visit also featured a cultural performance by SIS Malay program freshmen. They sang the popular Malaysian folk song "Rasa Sayang", which resonated warmly with the audience, creating a lively atmosphere. Following the performance, the students confidently introduced themselves in fluent Malay, showcasing theirlanguage proficiency.

Following a ceremonial exchange of gifts, both parties held in-depth discussions on topics of mutual interest, including language learning, international communication, and cross-cultural exchange. The Malaysian delegation spoke highly of the Malay program's achievements in talent cultivation. The subsequent free discussions between the students and the Malaysian teachers further boosted the students'confidence in learning the Malay language.

The visit underlined both side's commitment to deepening mutual understanding and friendship through sustained educational dialogues and cooperation.
