The 2026 Hangzhou International Electronic Music Festival, an event of the 5th Global Digital Trade Expo, was held in Hangzhou, focusing on the fusion of electronic music and AI through concerts, master classes, workshops, and a composition competition. Faculty and students from CUC's School of Music and Recording Arts were invited to present the new-media electronic music concert Sound & Shadow, with several original works winning prizes in the concurrent international composition competition.

Two student works from Communication University of China's School of Animation and Digital Arts won awards at the 2026 Khabarovsk International Animation Film Festival in Russia: *Hi, Lucky!* by Huang Ritong and three teammates took the Grand Prix—the festival's top award—while *Interviewphobia* by Chen Yihan and three teammates won Best Director.
