On October 24, John Chi-Kin Lee President of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) and his delegation visited the Communication University of China (CUC). Principal Zhang Shuting of CUC greeted the visiting delegation and had an in-depth discussion on promoting professional cooperation in digital media technology and facilitating exchanges between teachers and students.
Zhang Shuting introduced the basic information of Communication University of China (CUC), especially the achievements made in discipline development, talent training, internationalization, and the integration of AI and media. On behalf of CUC, an old partner of EdUHK with intense and close interactions and exchanges, he expressed his expectations to further strengthen cooperation with EdUHK in the fields of digital media major construction and faculty capability enhancement training, and to jointly explore the deep integration of AI into higher education.
John Chi-Kin Lee shared the progress of discipline construction and the development of three schools at EdUHK. He emphasized that media is closely related to education, and EdUHK plans to establish a postgraduate program in new media to foster the integrated development of media and education disciplines. He also indicated that EdUHK attaches great importance to AI and hopes to complement each other's disciplinary strengths with CUC, initiating more collaborative projects and exchanges in the future.
Attendees of this event included Cheng May-hung, EdUHK’s Vice-president, Gai Huixia, Head of the Director of Communications and Engagement, Zhong Dandan, Director of International Office (Office of Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs), Chen Jingwei, Associate Dean of the School of Animation and Digital Arts, Communication University of China and Jiang Miaomiao, Deputy Director of International Office (Office of Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs).
After the meeting, EdUHK’s delegation toured the Digital Human Research Institute, Digital Arts Innovation Lab, and AI-Generated Art Practice Center at Communication University of China.
The Education University of Hong Kong, formerly St Paul's College founded in 1853, was merged and established as the Hong Kong Institute of Education in 1994 and renamed the Education University of Hong Kong in 2016.
