Professor Sui Yan Wins 7th Wu Yuzhang Humanities Social Science Excellence Award

The winners of the 7th Wu Yuzhang Humanities Social Science Award and the 6th Wu Yuzhang Humanities Social Science Lifetime Achievement Award were announced on 28 September, 2017. China in Symbolic Communication, a book written by CUC Professor Sui Yan, won the 7th Wu Yuzhang Humanities Social Science Excellence Award. 

The Vice Premiere of the State Council, Ma Kai, graced the ceremony with his presence and presented the awards to the winners.

Prize-winners in the discipline of Journalism & Communication 

Wu Yuzhang Humanities Social Science Award is regarded as one of the highest honor in the field of Humanities of Social Science. It was set up by Renmin University of China(RUC) in 1983, in memory of Wu Yuzhang, the first president of RUC, a proletariat revolutionist, educator, historian and linguist.

The aim of the award is to promote the development and prosperity of Philosophy and Social Science. The award is given after every five years, based on an individual's influential achievements in the field of Humanities of Social Science.

In July 2017, Professor Sui's two English versions of award-winning work, China in Symbolic Communication, had been published by the world top press Routledge, an indication that translation and publishing work on Chinese classics is a great achievement for the nation in translation work.
