Contest Objective
A bilingual approach has demonstrated remarkable effectiveness in cross-cultural communication. Bilingual hosts are known for their captivating storytelling skills, and bilingual anchoring has emerged as a new and exciting trend in the global new media landscape.
This contest is designed to unearth and cultivate talented bilingual announcers, hosts and anchors. The Communication University of China now sincerely invites young individuals from across the globe to participate in the Third Global Youth Broadcast Announcing and Anchoring Contest to promote cross-cultural international communication.

Annual Theme
The Third Global Youth Bilingual Announcing and Anchoring Contest is centered on the theme "My China Story". This theme encompasses a wide range of elements, including family bonds, friendship and love. Additionally, it incorporates popular and timely topics such as food, tourism, sports, health, economy, culture, art and branding. Moreover, there are more themed activities in the pipeline. We sincerely invite you to keep an eye out for further updates.
Who can Participate:
1. People who are passionate about announcing and anchoring;
2. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and at least one other language;
3. With a refined appearance, good health and positive mindset;
4. With no record of illegal or disciplinary infractions;
5. No restrictions on nationality.
Contest Categories:
1. Generation Y Group: born between 1980 and 1995
2. Generation Z Group: born between 1996 and 2009
3. Generation Alpha Group: born in 2010 or after
How to Participate:
Contestants are required to participate by submitting videos online. Each participant should submit the following two videos:
[Video 1] Self-introduction (Limited to 90 seconds, presented in Mandarin Chinese. You are encouraged to showcase your talents or special skills in this introduction).
[Video 2] Bilingual hosting or anchoring work: Not exceeding 3 minutes, presented in Mandarin Chinese and another language of your choice)
【Submission Requirements】
Before submission, all entries must be posted on personal social media platforms such as WeChat Video Account, Xiaohongshu (RED Note), Douyin (TikTok), Weibo, etc.
Overseas participants who cannot access the above-mentioned social media platforms should post their works on personal accounts of mainstream social media platforms in their respective countries or regions, such as Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, etc.
When posting the works on social media, participants are required to include the following hashtag as a social media topic. #TheGlobalYouthBilingualAnnouncingand AnchoringContest#
Participants must provide links to these social media posts in their registration forms.
【Content Requirements】
1. There is no restriction on the form of expression, enabling contestants to fully exhibit their unique personalities.
2. The content must be positive, healthy and lively, with no illegal, irregular, or morally objectionable material.
3. Clear articulation and smooth, fluent expression are required.
4. Participants should project a refined appearance and appropriate manner. Light makeup is acceptable.
【Technical Requirements】
1. Sound clarity and sharp image quality are essential. It is highly recommended to use a microphone during recording to ensure optimal audio quality.
2. Video format: Aspect ratio of 16:9, horizontal filming.
3. File format: MP4 (1080p resolution).
4. Video size: Each individual video file should not exceed 500MB.
5. Video editing and post-production are allowed. You can enhance the visual and auditory aspects of your video to better showcase your work.
6. Regarding the voiceover in the video, the use of AI - generated technology is strictly prohibited. It must be recorded by a real person to maintain authenticity and the human touch.

Best Language Ability Award: Awarded to the individual with outstanding proficiency and command of languages.
Best News Reporting Award: Recognizes the best news reporting - style presentation among the entries.
Most Popular Award: Determined by the level of popularity and engagement the contestant's work receives.
Best Storytelling Award: Honors the contestant who excels at telling engaging stories.
Best Creativity Award: Given to the person with the most innovative and creative approach in their work.
Best Style Award: For contestants who exhibit a unique and appealing style in their hosting or anchoring.
Most Beautiful Voice Award: Acknowledges the contestant with an especially charming and pleasant voice.
Most Dynamic Award: Goes to the individual whose performance is full of energy and dynamism.
Best Promotion Award: Recognizes efforts in promoting the competition and their own work effectively.
Furthermore, the judging panel may confer the Outstanding Organization Prize upon outstanding organizations that have multiple participants and submit high - quality works.
Awards Benefits:
Winning contestants will be invited to the competition's grand award ceremony. The Organizing committee will provide one night hotel accommodation for winning contestants who come to attend the award ceremony.
Exceptional participants stand a chance to take part in the competition's signature event - the "Amazing China Tour". In this activity, they will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Chinese traditional culture and contemporary art. They will also be able to visit Chinese manufacturers and renowned brands, and enjoy themed cultural and tourism experiences, delving deep into the rich tapestry of China.
[Brand Activity Review 1] A Rendezvous in Harbin: Warming the World with Ice and Snow
Communication University of China, in cooperation with the Publicity Department of the Harbin Municipal Committee and the Harbin Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film and Tourism, launched the first leg of the "Beautiful China Tour" for global young bilingual hosts and anchors—the Harbin edition. Over 20 young participants from China, Tanzania, Italy, Japan, Malaysia and other countries took part in the event and were invited to attend the opening ceremony of the 41st Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival.
Throughout the four-day event, they utilized various mobile and portable filming devices, such as smartphones, DSLR cameras, and pocket cameras. They filmed during the day and spent evenings editing and posting content. They released over 260 bilingual short videos on both domestic and international social media platforms. From a multilingual and cross - cultural perspective, these videos presented Harbin's snow - covered scenery, iconic buildings, and local delicacies, offering a profound interpretation of Harbin's ice and snow culture and rich humanistic charm.
The event has received extensive coverage from national media outlets including Xinhua Net, People's Daily, China Daily, and China Youth Daily. The reports have been widely spread through diverse channels such as newspapers, websites, and mobile applications.

[Brand Activity Review 2] Celebrating Chinese New Year in Yan 'an
During the 2025 Spring Festival, Communication University of China and the Yan'an Municipal People's Government jointly organized the event titled “Following Snow's Footsteps: Global Young Bilingual Hosts and Anchors Amazing China·Yan'an Tour.” More than 20 outstanding young students from more than ten countries, including China, South Korea, Japan, Sri Lanka, Albania, and Nigeria, gathered in Yan'an to engage in creative fieldwork and exchange activities.
Throughout the four-day period they ventured into various locales to film during the day and spent evenings meticulously editing their footage. As a result, they created over 330 bilingual short videos which were then shared on domestic and international social media platforms. Through a multilingual and panoramic view, they vividly showcased Yan'an's revolutionary heritage, historical culture, folk arts, natural landscapes, and modern development achievements, offering the international community a brand-new way to understand China.
Video reporters from CCTV International, China Daily New Media Center covered the entire event. Moreover, national media outlets like CCTV "Oriental Horizon", Xinhuanet.com and People's Daily conducted extensive reports on this event.
