From July 6 to July 7, the 27th IEEE/ACIS Conference on Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Networks and Parallel/Distributed Computing (SNPD 2024-Summer) was held at Communication University of China. The conference was co-sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Association for Computer and Information Science (ACIS), hosted by the School of Computer and Cyberspace Security of Communication University of China, and co-organized by the State Key Laboratory of Media Convergence and Communication and the Science and Technology Association of Communication University of China. Nearly 100 experts, scholars and researchers from China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, South Korea, Morocco and other countries gathered together to discuss Innovation in the integration of software engineering, artificial intelligence and network computing: towards new thinking, new technologies and new practices.
On the morning of July 6, SNPD 2024-Summer was officially opened at the Communication University of China Academic Center. Chai Jianping, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Communication University of China, Simon Xu, CEO of ACIS and Dean of the School of Computer Science at Algoma University in Canada, Lin Weiguo, Dean of the School of Computer and Cyberspace Security at Communication University of China, and Lu Xiaopeng, Deputy Director of Beijing Science and Technology International Exchange Center, and many other leaders attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Lin Weiguo, Chairman of the Conference.
On behalf of the host university, Chai Jianping welcomed all the leaders, domestic and foreign experts, scholars and researchers who attended the conference, expressed gratitude to all the teachers and students who participated in the preparation of the conference, and emphasized that this conference is not only an academic event in the field of computer science, but also a vivid practice of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s series of important speeches on scientific and technological innovation.
